This quote rings true for most things in life, and especially true for what you do in the gym. There is a huge difference between approaching every set with maximum effort and focus, and just going through the motions and doing your prescribed “3 sets of 10” without breaking a sweat.
Building strength and growing muscle requires hard work and stepping outside of your comfort zone. When you do an LSN program we want you to take a moment before every set and set your intent. Put all of your attention into that set and shut off any outside noise.
We are intentional in everything that we program, from how we approach exercise selection down to how you should be performing these movements. In our programs, you’ll see lots of notes and demo videos where we describe exactly how you should be performing each exercise. Because just a few small tweaks can drastically affect how you’ll feel a movement and what you’ll get out of it.
So don't just go through the motions during training; clear your mind, focus on the cues and your movement, and attack with maximal effort.
Excellence is never an accident. Don’t leave your results up to chance. You determine your destiny.
Here are some ways you can approach your life and training with high intention:
1. preview your training
- Read all notes and watch tutorials from your program BEFORE you go to the gym. Understand the why and how of the movement.
2. focused warm-ups
- Be more focused during your warm-ups and mobility. The intention is to get primed for a great heavy workout, not just waste time rolling on a foam roller and looking at your phone.
3. Do not disturb mode
- Turn your phone on DND while you train. With your program being on an app, seeing extra notifications can be distracting, Time to dial in! This hour or two is focused on you and your progress.
4. create habits
- Set your intention and then take ACTION! This means creating habits that align with your goals.
5. remember the goal
- Remind yourself WHY you are doing something. Don’t want to meal prep? Remember you have big goals to build muscle or feel more energized for your family. Feeling unmotivated to train? Remember your bigger goal of getting that 600 deadlift or being able to take a hike without being gassed.

2. tutorials from your coaches
- We aren’t just linking random gym bro tutorials to your programs. We have hundreds of tutorials and demos in our exercise library. Many of them explain the intent behind the movement.
3. specific goals
- Every program and cycle of LSN Elite has a specific goal. We don’t go to the gym just to “workout”, we go to the gym to train to get a specific result.
